Champion’s league is a premier club football tournament that is organized by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) and it involves all the top club teams in the world. The 2018 season is the 64th season of this tournament. This is a very coveted trophy in club football and the top teams and players are always vying to win this tournament. It is also considered one of the toughest football tournaments in the world as only the top teams from their respective country’s club football scene qualify for this league. Champions League 2018 Season
This will be the 64th season and the 27th season since the tournament was named UEFA champion’s league. The tournament will be played across Europe and the final is slated to be played at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain. Real Madrid is the defending champions and they have won the tournament for last three seasons consecutively. There is a change in the format that came into effect from this season. As per the new regulations, the previous season’s UEFA Europa League winners will qualify automatically for the UEFA Champions’ League group stage. Meanwhile, the top four teams from the leagues of the four top-ranked national associations in the UEFA country coefficients list will qualify automatically for the group stage as well. Only six teams will qualify for the group stage via the qualification rounds, down from ten in the previous season.
